Quizzes require your web browser to have the Acrobat Reader software, version 5.x or later. Acrobat can be downloaded for free from Adobe's site. Get the browser plug-in, and follow the instructions provided to install it. Here are some instructions if you need them.

The quizzes can only be opened with Acrobat Reader, not with Acrobat Professional.

If you have technical difficulties with the quizzes using your home computer, then do the quizzes on campus.

Technical difficulty at home does not constitute a reasonable excuse for missing the deadlines. You are advised to start work early.

Mac users:

Use Safari as your web browser, and make sure you have Adobe Reader 6.0 or later installed. You may have to tell the Mac to open PDF documents using Adobe Reader instead of Preview (which is the default).

To do this, find a PDF document on your computer, select it and choose Get Info from the File menu. Then Choose Open with: and locate Adobe Reader (which should be in your Applications folder).

Compulsory Quizzes - MATH130 Semester 1 2008

You are required to complete the quizzes by their due dates. You may try as many times as you like, the quiz will be different each time, and your results for each attempt will be recorded.

The quizzes are timed, but your time is only recorded when you get full marks. This timing is not part of your assessment, it is simply for your own information.

A quiz is considered passed if you have no more than two questions wrong.

If you have not successfully completed each quiz by its due date, your access to that quiz will be denied. This will mean that you cannot obtain a grade greater than PC unless you are granted additional time to complete the quizzes. Reasonable requests for extensions will be considered.

BE PATIENT - THE QUIZZES ARE LARGE DOCUMENTS AND TAKE TIME TO DOWNLOAD! (approx. 300Kb) It may take some time for the quiz to appear, especially if you are accessing it from off campus, or over a slow internet connection. DO NOT repeatedly click "Get the Quiz", as this restarts the download process every time you click, increasing the time you will have to wait. Only if nothing has happened after 3 or 4 minutes, should you click again.

Compulsory Quizzes These quizzes must be completed by the due dates. If you have problems contact Garry Lawson, E7A 416. In Quiz 5, you can do Questions 9, 10 and 11 without knowing integration by substitution. Just differentiate the given answer choices. A method for Questions 7 and 8 will be done in lectures next week.
