Cycling

Fran commutes to and from work by bike, in all conditions except the most foul. This way she stays fit using time that would normally be wasted in the car or on the bus, saves money and burns no fossil fuel. (The bike runs on good food and wine!)

On weekends she can be seen conquering the big hills in northern Sydney, either alone, with husband Keith, or with Bike North.

Her favourite road companions are a Pinarello road bike (for going fast and climbing hills), a Trek road bike set up with rack and lights (for commuting) and a Greenspeed trike (for country touring). There is also an old purple mountain bike somewhere in the garage, but it's too embarrassed to show its face these days.
